I am an artist.

To the Marketing Leadership of Philadelphia Museum of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts...

Thank you for this opportunity to present my creativity, experience and credentials to serve as Graphic and Brand Designer to assist the museums market A Nation of Artists.

I am Ginny Lasco and I am an artist.

I was born and raised in Towanda, in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

My passion for art led me to the big city when I was 18 to study at The Art Institute of Philadelphia. At age 22, I was hired for a weekend position at a local TV station doing graphics for news programming. Within a year, I transitioned to the weekday role and not long after that I was promoted to Design Director of the entire station. I had a wonderful and experience-filled 25-year career in television at Fox-29 and 6-ABC.

In 2010, I launched my own venture, Mountain Lake Multimedia, to provide independent creative services to a wide range of clients. Another detour took me to History Making Productions, a Philadelphia based historical documentary film production house. Between 2013-2020 I was the Creative Director at HMP, was awarded 7 Emmys for my work, and was involved in all of the graphic design and branding for nine separate documentary film titles. I was given completely new challenges and had so much fun creating! Film logos, scene reenactments (using actual paintings and bringing them to life as if you were inside the painting), old photos and bringing movement and life to them as well, animating portraits as if they were being painted onto your screen, creating pitch decks, posters, magazines, postcards, and t-shirts.

My experiences are ones that prepare me well to assist the museums in this exciting, timely and important exhibition.

Working in television, I have redesigned and rebranded an entire television station, several times over. From the entire on-air look to billboards, bus wraps, bus-station shelter art, station helicopter...right down to coffee mugs!

In addition to my work as a graphic designer, I am also an accomplished photorealistic painter.

In the 1990s, I oddly enough became great friends with former Eagles Coach, Buddy Ryan. A friend of mine who had played for the Eagles had commissioned me to paint his portrait. When Buddy saw the painting, he spread the word. For several years I was commissioned by individual players (or their wives) to paint them. Thus began my photorealism art career.

In 2014 I was honored to receive the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society Signature Artist Award. The Signature Artists’ Guild is an elite sector of the Society - awarded to only 131 artists in a span of 24 years, whose work is recognized for consistent excellence. I currently have work on display in the Perelman Center for a year-long exhibit.

I appreciate this opportunity to show my work in the hopes that what you see will convince you that in selecting me to be your branding and graphic designer, you will be choosing to work with an artist whose creative, ideation, design and client collaboration skills will enable outcomes that will support and elevate A Nation of Artists. To be involved in this project would be a source of great pride as well.

Many thanks for your consideration.
